  • Chitarathai is native to India. It has leaves that are dark green on the tops, but lighter underneath. It also has flowers that are white and red, and they look like snapdragons. Alpinia calcarata is easy to grow and usually lives for more than 10 years. The flowers are white and red, and they grow on upright stalks. This plant likes medium sun, well-drained soil with rich nutrients in it.
